Hi,

I have a 40-m LOA, 9.6-m Beam Catamaran ferry currently using a waterjet propulsion (2 engines). In its new operation, it will pass through shallow areas with lots of sands. I've heard that waterjet propulsion breaks down very quickly in sandy areas.

Is it possible to modify a waterjet propulsion to surface drive? How tough is it and what is involved? Any helps and ideas appreciated.
