Posted awhile back that I would not mind paying for the site, must cost huge efforts to run the place and I and others have benefits from it
Maybe it could be on as a per post format, running a credit tab
what say?

LOL, Jack
You're suggesting that the people who contribute to this forum should pay to contribute, and the ones that merely read shouldn't pay.
I think that is one of worst pay-schemes for a website ever. Especially since this place is based on people contributing. Without that, there would be noone here.

Indeed, Wally. Perhaps if we're really nice to him, he'll offer to pay for us too?

And pray tell, Danish, what price, think ye, could one put on such priceless communication?

I suggest that we should all pay 10 eurocents per post. With just the four us, that would amount to 547€ or 802US$. And since jack is so kind, my vote goes to Jack. Allow him to pay for the show. I mean, he already has 1407 posts. That sure make it seem like he's the one bogging this site down.
But to make it even more effective, we could raise the price to a whole euro per post. That way we can make sure that only the ones that are really helpful will be here and be able to help.
Well, and types like the Osbournes, of course.

Conversely as Laze has so nicely offered to pay for it ALL does it matter? (except to him of course!)

Heh, I know! That's the whole point: In accordance with the suggestion, you should pay per post to share your experiance :p
(I wouldn't mind paying a lump sump, should Jeff be reconsidering this site because of cost, though).
Thank you very much for the concern -- there are no financial problems at this immediate time, but if the desire to increase revenue to purchase additional server hardware presents itself in the future, my first thought would be to generate revenue from the many guest viewers rather than from registered users who contribute to the forum directly.

Well said Jeff and nicely put. It does seem a little stupid to hit the poster who after all keeps the damn thing running, whether you agree with him or not! As for the guests who are getting the entertainment for free, maybe nothing for the first couple of times but if they keep coming back and give nothing maybe they should be charged (just can't see how you would make it work - the majority 'body swerve' anything they have to pay for)! Bit like cutting off your nose to spite your face sort of thing really!

ARRRGHHHH!!!!! Having used this site gratis, it's kind of difficult to have to think of ponying up some cash to continue. That being said, This is a site I would support with a small ($10/$20 per year ) contribution. Damn, it hurt to say that in print where others can hold me to it. How about severely limiting access to casual users, just give them enough to get interested, maybe limit them to something like 2 hours free viewing, if that's possible.

I second that one Nord but it would no doubt give Jeff extra work and as it is he must have difficulty at times makeing enough time to go for a p*** let alone anything else!!
